We are pleased to announce the release of the updated research brief, “Mistreatment of African American Elders”. The National Center on Elder Abuse at Keck School of Medicine of USC has updated the content on this existing brief with new data and facts. This Research to Practice Brief synthesizes revamped information and research findings related to understanding the mistreatment of African American elders, particularly involving financial exploitation and psychological abuse. Covid-19 and Delta Variant cases are still on the rise. 

While many Seniors have been vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus, there are several variants that have been identified in the DC area.  Recently, there has been an increase in Covid-19 positive cases amongst residents who have not been vaccinated throughout the DC metro area. We urge our Seniors to continue to wear a mask and take other necessary precautions to stay healthy. 

Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that are known to cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Severe Acute Respiratory syndrome (SARS) and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS).

Use your EBT Card to shop online at many local stores such as Aldi, Walmart and Amazon Fresh (no membership required for Amazon) and have your grocery delivered to your door. Select your store, visit the website and create an online shopping account. Add your grocery items to your online shopping cart and check out using your EBT card.
